This website (www.optimce.be) is operated by OptimCE, an open source project dedicated to energy community management.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy covers the marketing website www.optimce.be only. The beta application (app.optimce.be) and the user guide (guide.optimce.be) are separate services; their data processing is summarised below (section 5) or in their own privacy notices.

3. Analytics — Umami

We use Umami Cloud (Umami Software, Inc.) to measure traffic in a privacy-friendly way.

Data collected: visited page URL, referrer, browser type and operating system, country (derived from the IP address), screen size, device type.
Cookies: none. Umami sets no cookies and no persistent identifiers.
IP address: processed to derive the country, then not stored.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), justified by the anonymous and aggregate nature of the resulting statistics.

4. Site hosting — GitHub Pages

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., United States). For security and abuse-prevention purposes, GitHub may technically log your IP address and HTTP request information for a limited period. See the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

5. Beta application — Hostinger

The beta application available at app.optimce.be is hosted on Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd.). It processes user accounts and energy community data; this processing is not covered by the present policy and is described in a dedicated notice inside the application.

6. Newsletter — Mailchimp

The newsletter signup form in the footer transmits your email address, IP address and submission timestamp to Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., United States), our email delivery provider. This transfer relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Purpose: to send you OptimCE news and updates.
Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by submitting the form.
Unsubscribe: every email contains an unsubscribe link.

7. Web fonts — Google Fonts

This site loads its fonts from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com (Google LLC, United States). Loading these resources technically transmits your IP address to Google. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing readable and consistent typography. We are considering self-hosting these fonts in a future iteration to remove this transfer.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, write to us at contact@optimce.be.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority: autoriteprotectiondonnees.be.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or to applicable regulations. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
