Compensation
The mechanism known as the meter running backwards: injections are annually netted off withdrawals. Banned under European law beyond 31 December 2023, it remains secured in Wallonia until 31 December 2030 for systems commissioned before 1 January 2024 — and must be given up to take part in energy sharing.
